“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in Rising up every time we fail.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Sometimes in life, soul is called to Rise even if it’s alone, leave all behind and Rise anyway!”
“Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it.”
Listen, I’m all for decompressing and relaxing, and mental health days. I believe Italy has it right with taking 2-hour Pranzos in the middle of every day for food and family. And, for heaven’s sake, a 4-day work week would do wonders for the collective human spirit, and therefore healthcare.
But this humble pep-post isn’t about kicking back or taking it easy. No. This is about another form of well being: Giving it your all.
Just got laid-off? Don your smartest outfit, spiff-up that resume, and look for something better.
Romance taken a dive? Go cheer on a friend. Do a good deed. Find someone to serve.
Pain kicking your butt? Slip on some work-outs and keep moving.
Life has you in tears? Take a deep breath, say a prayer, and soldier on.
Get up. Get out. Get going. Push. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps and take charge of your day. Breathe in. Exhale. It’s time to get the show on the road.
Oh, you may think you’re beaten down and done. But that song has already been sung. That was yesterday. This is today.
Emerge. Life is calling you to awaken and arise.
Re-prioritize your pain. Inoculate your sensitivities with courage. Tell fear to take a hike. You are not kowtowing to darkness any longer! Your spirit is more resilient than that, and it’s calling you to launch yourself into the Light and illuminate the world around you.
So, summon the strength and proclaim your power.
“We all have an unsuspected reserve of Strength inside that emerges when life puts us to the test.”
“The hardest part of doing something is the bit where your brain tells you you can’t and your heart says, yeah, but I want to. I say listen to your heart, if you can.”
You have been Called.
God sees You. All of You. Resolve to be the one He can count on.
Don’t let us down.
Now, don’t rise out of guilt, or obligation. Don’t rise to put on a show of toughness. You are more genuine than that.
Choose to rise because you want to expand your life, your possibilities, your being.
Choose to rise because super hero powers are meant to be activated on a daily basis.
Choose to rise to scout your niche in the universe.
The beauty about transcending circumstance is that you are mantled with some pretty sweet gifts: Illumination. Amour propre. Surplus of courage to sally forth. But there’s more gifts that come from besting the blahs. You get affirmation of Strength that you didn’t know you had. You get indisputable proof that the power of Choice is life-altering. And, you get profound understanding that Life wants you to succeed.
So, no more negative self-talk. No more short cuts. Choose today to give it all you’ve got.
Full speed ahead.
“She believed she could, so she did.”
